Inflammation is a condition where the body can become reddened, swollen and painful. It can cause an increase in temperature and make the area feel hot to the touch. Typically, inflammation comes about as a result to injury. However, inflammation can also be due to irritations to the body from chemicals, such as drugs and medications. We may even get inflammation from the very foods and beverages we may choose to consume.
There are also foods and beverages that work well to help with inflammation. If you are suffering from chronic inflammation. You should first consult a doctor. However, a drink that may help to decrease inflammatory responses in the body is one made with Turmeric and Lemon. Turmeric is a powder that is made from a root. It is found in many Indian dishes. Not only does it taste good but has many health benefits such as natural pain relief and natural relief of inflammation.
To mix the drink you will need 1/2 lemon, squeezed for juice, 1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp honey/ 1/4 cinnamon powder, 1 cup warm water or milk. This will make one serving size. Mix the lemon juice, turmeric and honey into your cup of warm water or milk. You will want to stir these ingredients well. Add cinnamon and continue to stir your drink as you drink it. This will make sure the turmeric does not settle to the bottom of the cup.(note, milk may in some people with lactose intolerance cause inflammation so you may wish to stick with water)
